I think that if you're looking for the best tuba teacher in Nebraska, you'd need to talk to William Winkle. Craig Fuller is also a heck of a player and Lincoln has performing opportunities, but Dr. Winkle is the head of the music department. (READ: Play well, be nice and get a SCHOLARSHIP) While Chadron State College is a very small campus in the middle of nowhere with limited performing opportunities, Dr. Winkle is an exceptional teacher and a great guy. He is the co-author of a book with Harvey Phillips and can really play. I am sure that you could arrange a lesson with him to see if he and you would fit by calling Chadron State College. Make sure you know your fundamentals well wherever you audition!

In the end, go where you feel the most comfortable and then work your å$$ off. While it helps to have a great teacher, they are there only to eventually become useless. It is the ultimate goal of any good teacher to become useless to their students. (because the student aquires the skills to succeed without the teacher)
