I've stumbled across a great resource. If you need to ship a large package and aren't a business, it can be expensive as we all know. Freightland.com is a clearinghouse where you signup, give your shipping information and your requirements are sent out to bid to several companies. I got a very reasonable rate - comparable to what you pay from a retailer. All in all, very professional and safely delivered.
