Mr Jacobs used a variety of horns besides the two Yorks. On the F side, he had an Alexander (possibly bought from his predessor, George Hamburg), a Mienl - Weston F, and he did the 1978 VW recording on a Besson F. In the CSO Brass Quintet there was an arrangement with Holton, he used a CC and BB flat both in the quintet and orchestra. The Rudy Mienl pictured on the Portrait cover was in the studio for a number of years. Following this was a Canadian Brass CB-50 and Getzen G-50. That's not all, he had a Miraphone 185 at home, a few euphoniums and a couple dozen horns he bought and sold over the years. Finally there was the Dehmel that Reiner brought from Vienna.
