Generally, I consider an instrument to have good intonation if I can set the slides and forget about it, and play it in tune. I do like Rudolf Meinl's 2nd valve tuning slide trigger, which enables me to easily make small adjustments. However, if an instrument is not close-enough in-tune to lip the pitches, something is wrong with the instrument and I'm not interested in playing it. Just my opinion,
