The Brass Institute at Drew Summer Music (held on the campus of Drew University in Madison, New Jersey) is looking for a high caliber, high school bass trombone or tuba player to complete the roster of three brass quintets. These quintets are coached by Don Batchelder - recently appointed Principal Trumpet with the New York City Opera, Max Morden - top Broadway trumpet player and composer/arranger, Tony Cecere - third horn with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and member of Philadelphia Brass, Vernon Post - 2nd trombone with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra ,and, me. The quintets are coached by EACH member of the Brass Faculty on a daily rotating basis.
Aside from the quintet coaching sessions, the quintets will make up an large brass ensemble which will also rehearse every day. The Brass Faculty will present a concert on the first nite and will offer master classes throughout the week. The dates of Drew Summer Music are June 28 - July 5.
