you know, a lot of people had the 56J at ITEC and the only one that I heard play it cleanly and consistently was a young 17 year old girl who won the mock audition, and she was putting massive amounts of air through it (even she had some 'fuzz' on the beginnings of the notes, to paraphrase Bobo). the pt-4 is a decent horn, but I saw very few people with it at ITEC and haven't seen one at auditions. the obvious choice for most PT people is the pt-6 because it's a bigger, smoother horn (costs more though). the miraphone is probably your best bet because it has a very clear and warm sound but will still cut through an orchestra if needed. also it can be used for almost any occasion.
