So much for my Spanish word theory, heh, heh. Although I've heard stories on the Big Rez told with great authority that turned out to be bad cases of Compulsive Answer Disease.

p.s. It's the big reservation of the Navajo tribe. The Navajos are newcomers, having lived their nomadic lifestyle in the lowlands for only about 800 years. There are nearby pueblo tribes (i.e. Hopi) that have been there far longer, but they tend to live crowded into small villages up on the hills. That's why Tuba City has so little in it--the People prefer to be spread out. Even so, it is the chief town in the western reaches of Dinetah.
