If your dentist gives you the choice, leave them in. There is a small chance that removing them can cause nerve damage and they make you sign a waiver of responsibility. I kept all 4 of mine until recently with no problems. One upper was removed about 10 years ago, and the other last year, again with no problems. Tell your dentist that your chops are important and you want to do only what is necessary. Then do what he or she advises.
