You may be right, but...
It is through teaching that one learns the finer points of a craft. There is a huge difference between teaching an advanced high school freshman and helping a person who is changing instruments. I don't mean to minimize the talent and abilty of the "new" tubist but the best clarinet player rarely switches to tuba.
Teaching may be the best way to learn what you don't know!
