I remember when another TX distributer used to wholesale the "Schmidt"-like tubas - but with their own house name...
I thought they were very very good h.s./college/serious amateur tubas, but - when priced like Miraphone - I couldn't think of a good reason to tell someone to buy them instead of Miraphone, so I never ordered any.
If they had been something like "five valves for the price of four" or "Amati price for Miraphone quality" I would have had a "hook", but otherwise...
