Saxophones weren't originally ment to have to have a low Bb key (and no low A when it comes to modern bari's), anything above the high Eb key, no articulated G#, no forked F#, and no automatic octive key (I have an OLD bari somewhere at my local repair tech that has the 2 octive keys to manualy switch when you go above the high A). Oh yeah, and as for those C melody saxes, they were designed (original my Sax himself) as a C tenor sax for orchestra use (along with a whole line of C and F saxes). The bass and contrabass saxes (I think the bari may have been too) were originaly desined in an upright fasion, like an ophiclide with a sax mouthpiece.

But really, Who cares if its suppose to be there as long as it works. ;)
