I have the horn at home on trial and spent some time last night comparing it to my Besson Sovereign 967. I have been a devoted Sovereign player since 1978 except for a year with a Willson, It is hard for me to say it, but I think the Meinl Weston is easier to play than the Sovereign and has dare I say it, I richer warmer sound.
Having said that, the sovereign I have now is only 1 year old and i believe the newer models have a lighter sound than the old sovereigns.
