I am a band director, and like everyone else who has posted thus far, I strongly prefer sousaphones for marching. However, one convertible horn that is kind of cool was made by Conn. These tubas had front action valves and you would swap the 1st and 3rd valve slides to make it convert from marching to concert. They really sounded pretty good. I do not remember the model number, bit was essentially a Conn 5J with 3 valves and a convertible leadpipe. Big bell, .689 bore. I liked these horns but still recommend a metal sousaphone most of the time. The thing to avoid is the little 3/4 sized convertibles because the all sound "Barky" when played loud.
