I'd bet that the intersection of 80-year-old dixie tuba veterans and Tubenet regulars is pretty slim.
A friend of mine in the Buck Creek Jazz Band plays a new King 2341, and used to play a G-50 wired for BBb, when he is asked to play tuba (he normally plays trombone). He tells me that my 20J is a popular instrument in the trad jazz bands that he has seen over the years, and that he wouldn't mind playing one if he didn't have to carry it around. He's a founding member of Buck Creek, with 30 years, so he still doesn't qualify as "experienced" by your definition.
