I don't believe the faults you mention are at the root of some players' dislike of Miraphones. Most Miraphones on which they have based their opinions are 186's, which are well-known for playing in tune and being consistent in scale. I think the basis for Miraphone dislike is centered on two factors, only one of which is defensible. The first is that many players have a sound in their head that is different than what the Miraphone produces. That's a wholly defensible position. But there are lots of folks who would turn up their noses at a Miraphone who would benefit from their consistency and good intonation, and I suspect their motivation has more to do with fashion than fact.
