DP is right. Meinl-Weston and Rudolph Meinl are different tuba manufacturers. MW tubas are mostly mass produced, and I think RM tubas are all hand made. Both are very nice tubas and play differently. In general, MW tubas are a little darker and compact in sound, while the RM tubas have kind of a medium-ish tonal color with more overtones and not as compact in sound. Both have very commanding, full sounds that you can get a variety of shading and color of tone out of. At ITEC, I played the MW32 at Baltimore Brass and was great. It had a dark, but not too dark, sound that was well focussed and had quick response, and sounded like a smaller version of the old rotary MW2155, or Alexander, but with overall better intonation. Great all-around tuba.
