Interesting, Art!

My pinky finger is a full 1 1/8 inches shorter that my 3rd finger--and my index and third are about the same length. And my second finger is longer than either by about a half-inch. I've yet to see a piston valve cluster arranged in this fashion--usually the first three valves are in a straight line and the 4th is offset by about an inch.

So, instead of offsetting the first key to compensate for the index finger, I wonder if things would work better if you offset the 2nd valve in the other direction so that 1 and 3 were in a straight line. Sort of like this:

O
O O
O

(If this bit of HTML didn't work, it's 1 and 3 in a straight line with 2 offset up and 4 offset down).

Have you tried this?
