Thanks to all the nice folks who took time out of their day to try out my mouthpieces and give me such great feedback.
For those of you who didn�t make it or couldn�t find me, I�m working on a line of new tuba mouthpieces. I currently have three models in production, and hope to make two more available this fall.
The MF1 and MF2 are both medium deep bowl shaped pieces, the MF1 has a wider flatter rim, the MF2 is narrower and more rounded. Both pieces help produce a clear, focussed tone, especially on larger tubas. The MF3 (the �big MF�) is a rather large, funnel-shaped piece. Inner diameter is 1.2983 inches, or about 33mm. This model really opens up the lower register, and is very flexible and �easy to get around on.� One person who tried this one said �I didn�t know my horn could do that!�
