I last attended TBA in about 1992, and got in legitimately because the San Antonio Municipal Band performed there. I've attended several, plus many TMEA's, and often had to borrow a badge. I'd run into someone I knew working one of the booths, and they'd say, "Hi, R--er--Betty, nice to see you again."

The most respect I ever got was when I play-tested tubas after borrowing Lee Hipp's badge for a few minutes. Boy, were they disappointed!

When I last attended, I played four F tubas, including a Kalison and a B&S. But BBb's were definitely most abundant. Now that good high-school kids are playing C tubas, I'd expect the presence of C's at shows to trend upward.
