Now you've got me thinking! Upon closer glance, it's certainly NOT a King Symphony with front action valves.... for two reasons... the bell is definetely detachable, AND the leadpipe is on the wrong side. I think the leadpipe is wrong for just about ANY front action horn. Judging from the position of the dudes left hand, it's just about gotta be a rotary horn. I once saw a Conn or King Recording Bass (I think it was at Chicago Music in Tucson) with rotary valves. Interesting.
