Cotton gloves certainly can keep things much cleaner more easily. They're more slippery on lacquer, though.

Once every few months or so, get between all the tight tubing with a silver polishing cloth of some sort. It's easy to keep the big areas wiped down (helps to do it before putting the horn away), but those interior spaces are what makes the horn look tons better as a whole.
