What a great story----I owned an old King, ex US Navy 4 valve, perfect for brass quintet tuba, but a BBb. sold it when I bought my first CC Meinl Weston. The Holton BBb I bought from Jake I have used in San Francisco Symphony as a sub for Floyd, extra next to Bob Rusk in Milwaukee (with his Holton CC) etc. I have always been afraid to have it cut to CC and so it remains a BBb---which conductors have always liked (the sound and pitch, they have no clue as to it's fundamental).
