I hesitate to tell this in this room but it is a true story about such a sleep apnea machine. A female friend of ours was dating a fellow with sleep apnea but she did not know he had it. The relatoinship progressed over several months and she finally made a date to "stay over" for the night. After, when she was relaxed and drowsy and mostly asleep, he got up, put his machine on his face and then climbed back on to the bed. This startled her awake and her immediate thought was that a space alien had taken control of her and she shreiked, ran from the room, got in her car and slept there until morning, when it got light enough to drive over to our house. She arrived shaken but we laugh about it now. It ended the relationship, however.
