I know this isn't exactly tuba related, but this is the only place I can think of to check. I got a minidisc player and microphone for my graduation. Whenever I try to record myself practicing with the microphone, it records everything less than a few inches from it very, very faintly. A $50 tape recorder can do better than this, and it's a $100 microphone. The microphone is a Sony ECM-MS907, and the minidisc player is a sony MZR500. If anyone can tell me what the problem is, or give me any advice at all, I'd appreciate it.
