First, make sure that it is legal and that you do everything you need to do to make it legal. If, for instance, you need to get all parties' permission, make that the first question. I have no idea what the laws are for recording an international call, but I'll bet there are some. If you are not absolutely sure about the laws, I'd check with an attorney.

Second, if you are using the recording for anything other than background information or notes then you will be very disappointed in the audio quality of any recording method you use on an international line.

Third, you can buy adapters at Radio Shack that will allow you to attach a tape recorder to your telephone. Since the line quality will be so poor, I doubt it will make much difference what kind of recorder you use.
