Nobody can tell you what you should sound like, you have to find that out on your own.

If you're looking for answers regarding how you can sound more like the "characteristic" F tuba player, I would suggest you listen to some great artists play the F tuba and then maybe experiment with some smaller mouthpieces. Generally, some players have used bigger mouthpieces on F tubas than were ever intended and a smaller mouthpiece, while not being quite as versatile in conjunction with an F, will maybe produce the sound you're looking for. Doing this is a nice opportunity to expand the overall number of sounds you can make by choosing a mouthpiece for your F that is more specialized and not one that is targeted at making your F (currently your only horn) a more versatile instrument.
