I understand that Salvationist Publishing & Suppplies actually made their own brass instruments. They really were made for use by the Salvation Army. They were in business from 1889 through 1950. I have yet to find a good serial number list for them, so dating a particular instrument can be a problem. The ones I have seen have been well made, nice looking horns. I think that they are similar in quality to Boosey & Hawkes horns of similar vintage.
