Following on from the thread below on breathing, I wonder if the number of litres it takes to play a note has ever been measured? This would certainly have many variables, such as volume, pitch of note, size of horn (mouthpiece throat, etc), not to mention efficiency of the player's embouchure, but even so, it would be interesting to be able to generalize.
