Actually, it's both. Primarily I was referring to the construction quality of the mouthpiece. I'm sure we've all had experiences with mouthpieces that had problems with the plating after a while, especially on the rim. I've seen gold plated mouthpieces that were never abused that had the plating wear out on the rim in under a year. I was also referring to the fact that I had settled on this mouthpiece for a considerable amount of time. For me, that's pretty remarkable because I've been using a Bach 18 for I don't know how long. I also went quite a stretch with an R&S Helleberg heavyweight that worked really well. But the Laskey 30H is my current choice and I'm pretty sure by now that it is going to stay that way for quite some time. Even though the newness has worn off, I still like it just as much. I hope you have as much long term success with your 30H!
