If I had such a tuba, I'd be able to sell tickets to my recitals just so people could see all that mechanical action.
Two problems for me: Friction in the slide would be enough so that the slide would overheat trying to keep up with my wandering intonation.
The other problem is finding a sensor that can pick out a real pitch in all that flatulence.
