I agree and these are all valid points, I only stress the importance of teaching music correctly. Do not teach it as a vehicle for math scores. These side-effects are indeed wonderful and may appeal to Joe-Average parent, yet they should not influence the manner in which the educator approaches their lesson plan. Unfortunately I have seen too many general education teachers that see music as another "extracurricular" or non-essential program in the schools. When the Discovery channel airs the "Save the English" campaign I will consider the sides even.
