I have been using 2 different mouthpieces for some time on my BBb. I use a Conn Helleburg for bands and large groups for a full dark sound and a Conn Helleburg 7B with smaller ensembles and jazz for a brighter sound. I read in one of the recent tuba jounals that the Tubaist with the St Lois Symph uses a number of different mouthpieces to change the color of his sound for different situations. Whatever makes you happy I guess.
