Yes by all means read Scott's interview with Ron, but for a graphic representation of what musical life under Dohnanyi must be like you have only to watch him raise his left palm high in the air, supressing any iota whatsoever of climax in that sweeping trumpet theme just before the final coda. Then get ya's the Teldec video, Art of the Conductor, Vol. II, and watch Charles Munch go totally NUTS at the same section.
