Actually, an old Conn 25J might fit the bill for you. The bore on the 25J is around .770, the bore you listed might be from some of the smaller Conn BBbs (5j etc.) or the new 52J CC. Combine this with a 24" detachable bell and huge outer branches and you can make a huge sound. Response on these horns is very good, notes pop out very cleanly on technical passages and it speaks very easily. The one thing to watch is intonation the f below the staff and a few notes surrounding it can be pretty wacky on some of these giants. You might need to try several to find one with livable intonation. These horns are fairly rare (at least the 25j with an upright bell is) but they do show up from time to time (E-bay etc.). I believe Taylor music in South Dakota might still have some if you are interested in looking into them.
