I'm lucky if my elementary age students practice more than 20-30 a day at all. In the 2 situations described, I would first try to buzz some ahead of time on MP
Situation 1
-buzz 1-2 minutes of bel canto
-long tones (mostly low reg) 3-4 minutes - use the scale you will be playing in
-articulation studies 2-4 minutes - start w/ quarters, work your way to fast 16ths
-actual music 10-15 minutes - play through an entire section then go back and drill
Situation 2
Lots of MP buzzing beforehand
10 minutes of long tones
Scale etudes 5 minues
Bel Canto Studies 5 minutes
Hope this isn't off base...just my thoughts
