I prefer the 5th valve to be before the other valves, and in the right hand. This way, It has more of a chance of not being stuffy. My CC tuba has it before, and it's enormous, and not stuffy. My F has it after, and well, it's a little stuffy. It's all personal preference. I personally don't like it in the left hand, because it takes your hand away from the slides that you need to pull.
