The only problem with a raw brass horn is a green mark on your hands at contact points. I simply painted the small section where my hands touch with a very light coat of a clear lacquer spray paint. Not as neat as a professional job I will admit but it worked. If you have a small spot that you want to protect clear nail polish works well too. You could even use fashionable colors if you so choose! ;-) ken k
