As a former owner of a Conn 25J 4-valve upright bell BBb tuba which had that characteristic fundamental-prevalent sound, there are some other 6/4 BBb's that you may find easier to play. For example, try the Willson (Model 3050??).
There is a huge BBb shown on the Rudolf Meinl website, but I've never seen or played one.
