I've used the PT44 for about 9 years now and it works well on mid-sized tubas for my average sized lips(to say nothing of my big mouth...) I think the PT 36 is also a middle ground mouthpiece. These 2 are similar to the Conn Helleberg I believe, but with more comfortable rims. I used to usethe Conn but the rim felt like a cookie-cutter to me. Schilke makes a Helleberg II that is/was fairly popular. I would suggest hitting the custom music website(Sean has it linked in the "shops" section of this site. You say nothing of your physiognomy(did I use that correctly?) or goals so I can only give generalizations. You should be going for a tone from the mouthpiece that you are happy with and a level of comfort and ease of use that won't inhibit you(i.e. you won't be shot after half an hour of playing)
