In general...with any horn and any player...you are going to get a mixture of opinions.
With that said I LOVE MY 2165. :) Hee hee....ok that was a bit much. Seriously though, I own a Meinl Weston 2165 which I bought used. I love the sound I get on it. It is a bit cumbersome (I'm 5' 8" tall) but I make due with some clever gadgets (ie. tuba rest, thin rubber sheet, etc). It took me some time to get used to it. But I now have a good balance between myself, my mouthpiece, and my tuba.
What sold me on this horn was the sound. It has a great sound with a good balance of core and overtones. It's not as dry as some 6/4's I've tried, but I like it that way.
