This is what I recall hearing when Conner played the Weber piece, not just a two note chord of the tuba plus the sung note, but a multi-note chord with several overtones, going up quite high. I listen to the Bobo recording of the Kraft piece, and for the most part I hear only a two note chord. That could be a problem with my ear, but in any event the neat and wierd part of this thing called multiphonics is the sympathetic reaction the singing and playing at the same time create. I have not heard the Concertino played on a French horn. Do they typically try the multiphonics? Does it work?
