Check out the Geib line of mouthpieces at Dillon Music. There are several sizes both in large and standard shanks. I have a Geib 3BL which is a bronze core, large shank. The rims and inner lip on the Geib's are more rounded than the Conn's. The bronze core adds more weight to the mouthpiece without added mass. As far as the Geib 3, it feels like it has a larger rim diameter as my Monette 94 which has the same rim as the Conn Helleberg. I haven't measured it myself, but that's the way it feels on my face. It projects very well and centers easily. Check the Dillon Music web site under "tubas" and "new mouthpieces." If you call, ask for Matt Walters. He's the tuba person there and a great guy. He'll help you out with whatever questions you have. Good hunting!
