I just tried one of those mp's for the first time about two weeks ago and it didn't do anything for me. I think they most definetly got carried away with the whole weight concept. It did in fact help to center the sound but I thought it lacked alot of flexibility. But this is just one lonely tuba players thought, other opinions may differ.
