While so many hours of practice may not guarantee success, lack of same will pretty much guarantee failure (as related to performance). I guess the good news is there are plenty of teaching jobs available for those who feel medriocrity is an acceptable standard. Excellence can only be acheived through diligent work, whether it be in music, sports, or video games! Those who want it badly enough understand, and have experienced for themselves just how if feels to practice the hours. Those who have never had the experience just won't get it.
