There are some pictures in the book Song and Wind of Mr. Jacobs and his prized instrument. I believe the mouthpiece you are refering to is a custom built mouthpiece which had an adjustable cup. You spin the rim to vary the depth of the cup. It was built by Reynold Shilke especially for Mr. Jacobs.
