I recently purchased a used tuba from David Fedderly at Baltimore Brass, and I thought I would recount the experience for anyone considering a similar purchase.
- All my inquiries, whether by phone or e-mail, where answered immediatly.
- The tuba arrived exactly on the day he said it would.
- The tuba was exactly as he described it, no hype, no surprises.
- At the end of the seven day trial period, He called me! To make sure I was satisfied , before cashing my check. (I did not really need the seven days, I fell in love with this tuba on the first day, it is a Player!)
To my amazement, he held the horn for me while I struggled (and struggled) to get my finances together. I had a couple of set backs ( the first loan fell through,& I broke my leg!), I am quite sure he could have sold it to someone else with cash during this period, but he did not. (Another, of the same model - but lacking the pedigree of mine, was sold at this time)
This sort of service takes the fear and risk out of long-distance tuba buying. I highly reccomend Baltimore Brass for anyone considering a similar purchase. I could not be happier with the experience, or the tuba.
