The inside dimension of the inside slide tubes in the cylindrical portion (valve section) of the instrument, usually measured in the U.S. in thousandths of an inch, and in Europe by millimeters, or portions thereof.
EXAMPLE: .750" means that the inside dimension of the inside slide tubes is seven hundred and fifty thousandths of an inch (3/4 inch, if you will.)
