I previously owned a 2145 for a while and within a year of hearing many recordings of concerts and rehearsals in both brass quintet and orchestra settings became very unsatisfied of the sound. The horn felt great to play, but the sound coming out did just not match the effort going in. I would echo Jay's Rudy Meinl recomendations and add the Rudy 3/4 to the list - I play a very old one in a number of situations and it has worked out great for me!
