For those who are interested in the physics of musical instruments, Scientific American published an excellent series of articles on this topic (I think in the late 70's or early 80's). A college library should have the issue or Scientific American might still have reprints for sale (The Physics of Musicial Instruments: The Physics of Brass Instruments, etc... if I remember the titles correctly).
