Sorry, I pushed the wrong button and posted an empty message. What I meant to say was that I recently tried out two Kalison Daryl Smith tubas and found them to be very good horns. On one of them I used my Korg tuner, and it proved to be as in tune as my Miraphone 188 CC tuba, which I have been using for several years. I also own a Meinl Weston 2145 CC tuba which I find comparable. All three horns are in the same general price range, and all three have their own distinctive tone qualities. I believe that the Kalison and Meinl Weston have a slightly better high register above middle C, and the Miraphone has a slightly bigger sound when played at full volume.
